How Long I Want To Use Glemont-F To Get Rid Of Asthma?

Hi Doctor, I am a potential (as its not confirmed yet) asthma patient and since past 2 - 3 weeks, there is heavy wheezing in my chest and air ways often gets blocked so badly that I am not able to breath properly and this is also affecting my sleep. My doctor prescribed me Glemont-F and Combihale FF 500 for a month. I was feeling better after 3 - 4 days of use of both medicines and quit taking them after a week time and now after its just 2 - 3 days have passed and the same symptoms have started to appear. I am starting to take Glemont-F again but my question is, for how long I will have to take this tablet? Will my condition stabilize after one month of use? My main symptoms are wheezing, light couch and difficulty in breathing. Just to let you know, the similar symptoms had appeared about 5 years ago and the same doctor treated me and thereafter, I never had any problem. I am also an allergic and have been using Flioxnase nasal spray since past 7 - 8 years. Please advise. Thanks & Regards, Dinesh

Glemont F ( monteleukast+flexofenadine) is used in allergy. Combihale FF ( fluticasone+formeterol) is used in the management of asthma. As combihale FF contains fluticasone which is a steroid, I would recommend against stopping it without medical advice. The dose of steroids should always be tapered.
I would have suggested my patient to continue the medications for 1 month and depending upon response will decrease the dose or maintain the same.
And the duration of treatment depends upon the symptoms. Hope this helps. Thanks.
