How Long Is Sebowash Shampoo Recommended For Dandruff?

Hi Sir, I saw your response for Sebowash usage. Its helpful for me as well as Dermatologist suggested me to use this shampoo. So, I will be stopping this usage once my dandruff is controlled. I am using it from last 15 days. Any timeline for the usage? Can you please suggest which shampoo to use among Pantene, tresame, Sunsilk etc (indian market). I wanted my remaining dandruff to be cleaned, and also for hair growth as well.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Sebowash shampoo contains fluocinolone which is a topical cortico-steroid medication used to treat symptoms like dandruff, red, scaly, itchy rash on scalp associated with seborrheic dermatitis. Sebowash shampoo should be applied to the scalp area, massaged until it lathers and then needed to be left on the scalp for more than five minutes. Sebowash shampoo should be used 3 times weekly for 4 weeks, then 2 times weekly for 4 weeks and then once weekly for 4 weeks as a maintenance therapy.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Zubayer Alam, General & Family Physician
