Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello Sir! I have taken 5 doses of anti rabies vaccine 10 months ago as I was bitten by my dog and today I got bitten by my same dog but it isn t so serious but little blood did came out at the spots were she has bitten. I took TT vaccine. Do I still need need to take anti rabies vaccine as I had the last doses 10 months before?
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. You took anti rabies 10 months ago. After a course of Rabipurvaccination, reinforcing doses of Rabies vaccination are generally required every 2 to 5 years. You develop immunity against rabies for 5 year. You do not need any doses up to next 4 years. Vaccine should be taken when there is clear indication. So you are completely protected.
Hope this may help you. Contact further if follow up needed.
Best regards, Dr. Sagar
