How Long Is Taking Eptoin Recommended To Treat Seizures In 2 Year Old?

Hello my daughter is 2 year 8 months, she had Seizureis 4times stating from the age of 1 year 2 months, the 4th one was lasted till 45 minutes and she was admitted to hospital for 4 days, doctor had prescribed eptoin syrup and suggested for phenytoin level in blood and it was abnormal, it was about 4 out of 20 later on doctor advised us to stop eptoin and we were not covninced we are continuing the same, please suggest....

Well come to HCM
If this is the grand mal seizure then treatment need to be continued for long time if the clinical response is good with the "Eptoin" then continue this, but dose really need to be adjusted according to complete clinical history and symptoms some time serum level of drug may be helpful in dosing, but no that much necessary if given in well calculated dose, hope this information helps, take care.
