General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The morning after pill is a form of emergency contraception that can be taken as many as 5 days after unprotected sexual intercourse to help reduce the risk of becoming pregnant. It is quite effective in this setting. However, the morning after pill is not a form of regular contraception and it should never be used like that.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
