How Long Prolonged Vaginal Bleeding Post Medical Abortion Take To Stop?
Hi i was five week pregnent n i tested in hospital which resulted positive n i took misoprostal n another two tablets n used it as directed by my parmacist i am bleeding heavily for four days n had cramps on first two days. Please tell me how long my periods end
Bleeding after use of misoprostol for termination of pregnancy is generally heavy and may look like normal period. Heavy bleeding with passage of clots is generally for a few days and may gradually taper off. The bleeding generally persists up to 2 weeks and in some cases even a bit longer.
However, spotting may persist even up to next period. But usually there is no effect on hemoglobin level of patients. However, if continuous or intermittent heavy bleeding is there after 10 days or so, as well as there appears symptoms of hypovolemic shock like low BP, increased pulse rate etc., then it is an indication to see your doctor and managed accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
