How Long Shortness Of Breath Will Last After An Stereotactic Radio Surgery?
My husband stereotactic radiosurgery the end February for cancer on his lung, he just had a CT scan and said he is cancer free. However about two months ago he started having shortness of breath and the radiation oncologist said it was normal as it bring inflammation to the lung. How long does this last for?
Thanks for your question on HCM. Yes, steriotectic surgery cause inflammation and thus breathlessness. It usually last for 1-2 months. Steroids and bronchodilators my fasten the improvement. I suggest you to rule out bronchitis also ,by doing PFT (Pulmonary Function Test). As bronchitis can be a cause for breathlessness. This may need inhaled bronchodilators and antibiotics. So discuss these with your doctor.
