Once you are diagnosed with high blood pressure (hypertension), the main target remains to control it and keep it within normal range. Blood pressure should be kept under certain figures ( On the other hand, as years go by, there is a possibility that hypertension goes into another stage, and one-drug treatment strategy may no longer be sufficient. That will be the time where another drug will be added to your therapy. All these measures have one aim: keeping blood pressure within normal range, or such range that does not produce end-organ damages. I hope I was helpful with my answer. Feel free to ask again.
