How Long Should I Take Prometrium For Irregular Vaginal Bleeding And Disordered Endometrium?
I am 68 yrs old & started some minor vag bleeding ( not every day ; approx 1/4 of a pad)I had a Bx, & have Disorrded endometrium. Was put on Prometrium. Is this something I ll be on for life; the bleeding was so mild & infrequent, I d almost rather put up with it. Does Prometruim have any CA prevention benefits? Thank-you.
Prometrium contains hormone progesterone which helps to regulate uterine lining in post menopausal woman. It has not shown any positive effects over the prevention of cancer, on the reverse it is known to produce risk of breast cancer and cardiovascular complications over use of a prolong period of times.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
