Progesterone preparations like meprate are often given. If your doctor has advised it, then the contraindications would be ruled out by her. Meprate can be started 5 days before your expected period, and then continued for as long as you wish to avoid bleeding. Once you stop the drug, you will experience a withdrawal bleeding within 5 -7 days. So accordingly you can plan the dates for taking Meprate. if you are above 60 kg in weight, take 10 mg twice a day atleast. If you weigh over 80 kg, 10 mg three times a day might be needed.
