How Long Should Septilin Be Used By An Elderly Person For UTI?

Sir, professionally I am a alopathic doctor, my age is 80 years, I am having recurrent UTI, Urine culture shows E. coli infection, sensitivity comes to norfloxacin, that has been used fora long time, I do get respite, but the infection re appears, this has been going for almost a year. Some body suggested me to use septilin. I wanted to know in details, whether it is effective and if so in what doses and how long it should be taken to know your result.
