How Long Will It Take To Restore Swallowing?

I had an upper endoscopy done 5 days ago, my throat is still very tender and sore. I did go into the ER the day of my procedure to make sure there was no tear or rupture, and there was not. How long before my throat feels better & I can swallow better?

Hello,

You may need to give time to damaged mucosal lining to regenerate. It may regenerate soon and in short time. Eat small amounts of food frequently, not solid but soft foods. Eat warm not hot neither cold food.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
