How Many Days Of Rest Is Advised While Suffering From Jaundice?

I was diagnosed with jaundice 11 days ago with total serum bilrubin 7.3. The doctor gave me ofloxacin and ornidazole, a vitamin supplement , a solution of sorbitol and tricholine citrate, liver aiding pills. After 10 days the serum level was 4.4. Why my progress is so slow? And how many days rest I have to take more ?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
It is unfortunate to note that you have developed jaundice. But it is good that your bilirubin levels are coming down. Hence you need not worry.
Continue the prescribed medications as advised for the specified period.
You need rest for another 10 days. Check your bilirubin levels once again. If it is below 1.5 mg/dl, then you can strat resuming your routine gradually.
See that you maintain high carbohydrate easily digestible and low fat diet for another 10 days.
Wish you speedy recovery. All the best.
