How Much Neurontin Can Be Taken Daily?
My sister in law is taking neurotin as prescribed by her doctor. She takes 2 pills 4 times a day. The dose per pill is 300mg. That is a total of 2,400 mg per day. She has seems high and says everything is jumping up and down. she is also a diabetic and her sugar level is 419. She takes metforman for that. She lives alone and I am worried about her.

Neurontin is composed of 'Gabapentin', which is a medication used to treat partial seizures, neuropathic pain, hot flashes, and restless legs syndrome.
In adults, dosage may be initiated on Day 1 as a single 300 mg dose, on Day 2 as 600 mg/day (300 mg two times a day), and on Day 3 as 900 mg/day (300 mg three times a day).
The dose can subsequently be titrated up as needed for pain relief to a dose of 1800 mg/day (600 mg three times a day). Clinical efficacy has been demonstrated over a range of doses from 1800 mg/day to 3600 mg/day.
