birth control pills cant be stopped whenever you want to.They have to be taken strictly regularly to be effective preferably at the same time of the day. if you miss one tab you can take next day 2 tablets. if you miss more than one tablets in one cycle then they are ineffective and you need to start using other method like condom for the rest of that month and have to start fresh course of tab next month 5th day of the cycle.if you wnat to take a break from pills you have to do it under qualified doctors guidance.after 1week of expected cycle still if you dont get periods you can check with home pregnancy kits and it is advisable for you to consult qualified gynaecologist to plan the next course of action.
