How Safe Are Steroid Shots While On Z-pack To Clear Up Itchy Rashes?
Hello- I was diagnosed with bronchitis and started taking the Z pack on Friday. I still have two more days to take the medication. I also have poison ivy and it is spreading and itching crazy. I need a steroid shot to clear it up. Is it safe to get a steroid shot if on the Z pack, or do I need to wait until Wednesday when off the Z pack to get the shot? Please advise. Thank you!

You can take steroid along with Z pack. Prevention of spreading rashes is essential as further itching and consequent scratching will cause skin infection. So, Z pack is also needed along with steroid to prevent skin infection caused by scratching.
Advice
1. Complete course of Z pack
2. Avoid touching poison ivy
3. Dexamethasone 0.5 mg every 12 hours per oral for 5 days
4. Levocetirizine 5 mg daily per oral for 5 days
5. Apply calamine lotion locally three times daily for soothing effect
