How Safe Are Vitamin Supplements During 9th Month Of Pregnancy?
I am 9 months pregnant. My expected due date is 18/8/2016. My doctor has prescribed me some vitamins and I was told during my ultrasound that my baby s growth is abnormal and the delivery will be delayed by 2-3 weeks. But when I showed my ultrasound report to another gyanae she told that the report is normal and I may.avoid taking vitamins. What shoul I do? Should I take vitamins or not? Another question.is that is it necessary to.do ultrasound now or not? My last question is that can I sleep on floor sometimes or not?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Vitamins are mainly affecting mothers health. It does not have a direct effect on baby growth.
Specially weight gain. So I don't think taking vitamins would do any harm to the mother/fetus. It can help by increasing the bearing capacity to manage labor pain the healing process after labor.
So I would advise taking the vitamin preparation as per your testing doctor's advise.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
