How Safe Is Nebulizer For Small Children?

My son is three and half months old and has suddenly caught cold resulting to cough and nose blockage. He was under medication but due to presistance of the cold he has been prescribed nebulization thrice everyday along with other medicines. Kindly suggest whether nebulization is safe for an infant as he is sleeping continuously and is always in a drowsy state.

Hello,

It is easy way to children to relive cough. Through this you may give normal saline or bronchodilators. It is safe.

If you observe there is increased respiratory rate or chest indrawing or decreased intake of feeding then take the child to pediatrician. Otherwise nothing to worry.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
