How Safe Is A Hip Replacement Surgery For A 78 Year Old Woman?
My mom is having hip replacement surgery, the whole hip, she is 78 yrs. how safe is that She is in a lot of pain and cannot walk without help. Will she be safe after the surgery ? On her right leg, there are 3 long screws that are holding her hip together, on her left hip is also I. Extreme pain from hip down to knee elevating to foot.
Noted the history about the hip joint pains and the screws. Since she is in so much pain with disability she certainly needs the hip replacement surgery which is now an established surgery. Thre is no other option. Successful surgery will make her life better. If she is medically fit please go ahead with surgery. There is no other thought.
