How Safe Is Taking Lovenox And Coumadin For Deep Vein Thrombosis?

I was diagnosed with a dvt, I have been on lovenox injections 1x daily along with 10mg Coumadin q-day. I have been on this regiment for 4 days and my MD will not let me walk halls or be D/C d because my INR isn t 2 yet. I am a PT and we generally only hold PT for 24 hrs and once they begin lovenox and Coumadin we resume all PT. What is your thought of why I m not being discharged. Also, my pain and swelling has resolved almost completely.

you can be discharged when you stop lovenox and your INR REACHES 2 & contnue coumadin the dose which adjusts this INR
