hello doctor, my child 2 year old yesterday vomitted thrice after taking milk in the morning , after breakfast and lunch. we consulted doctor. doctor recommended zanocin 100 / 5 ml for 6 days . i checked in net regarding ofloxacin, but it is written not be used in children . please comment on this
Zanocin (ofloxacin) belongs to a group of antibiotics called fluoroquinolones. It may be prescribed in infective acute gastroenteritis.specially in adult. It is generally avoided in the pediatric population, due to risk of musculoskeletal damage (the cartilage may be injured). I would advice you to consult with your pediatrician, and put forward your worries.
