How Safe Is Using Vaporizer Pen?

Hi, so I quit smoking for about 7 monthes .. And I use this Vape pen... One night while using it . I felt my right rib cage begin to pulse . It s quite frightening . So I didn t bother using for the rest of the night .. But I did feel it pulsing for a while... Would this be a sign of something serious ? Or minor ?
