I have a left ventral hernia at one of the laparoscopic incision sites of a gastric bypass 3 years ago that got much larger and extremely painful for a day and a half after moving heavy boxes. I had a CT scan which led to the discovery of a 1.5cm area of concern on the left lobe of my liver. MRI was recommended and I just got the results: Hemangioma, dilation of portal vein, and mild enlargement of spleen. A year ago I had a bleeding ulcer and had to have a blood transfusion before they discovered what it was and repaired it. I am seeing a surgeon in the morning for the hernia and a GI doctor in the afternoon to consult about those 3 new diagnoses. I have been having strange symptoms over the last couple of years: pulsatile (?) tinnitus (whooshing sound to the beat of my heart) in my left ear more and more frequently, fatigue most of the time, excruciatingly painful toe and sometimes leg cramps (felt more like contractures) from time to time, numbness and tingling in legs and feet and sometimes hands, swelling of feet (mostly left)... All my labs were normal, and I take all my bariatric vitamins/supplements regularly. My abdomen is very swollen. I wake up with a back ache almost every day but there is nothing wrong with my back - and it gets better with activity. I had diabetes and high blood pressure in the past but not since the gastric bypass surgery. I can t help but think all these things are related, and the MRI results have me freaking out. Any thoughts about how all this could be related and how serious it COULD be? I know you can t say for sure without examination, but I just need some feedback. Thank you!
