Hi, An enlarged liver is one, that is bigger than normal and it is called hepatomegaly. It is a sign of underlying disease, rather the disease itself. The disease may be some liver problem like hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, fatty liver, cancer of the liver, secondary s due to metastasis etc. It could be a sign of heart failure, as well as some blood disorders and genetic disorders and so many other diseases. It can be a sign of some mild disorder as well as some serious and life threatening diseases. Therefore, the treatment will depend on the cause of the disease and treatment done accordingly.
