How Serious Is The Bleeding In Base Of Neck Which Stopped After Treatment?
my son had a terrible headache and a CAT scan revealed bleeding at the base of his neck. A later scan showed the bleeding had stopped and he will remain in the hosp. for a few days. Just how serious is this? thanks for your help YYYY@YYYY

From the CT reports you probably means brain stem which include pons, medula and midbrain from the base of neck.
Seriousness of the bleeding can predicted only after knowing the current medical status of patient, cause, extent and the exact area of the bleed.
