Hello,

The standard treatment of tuberculosis consists of an initial phase followed by a continuation phase. In the initial phase AKT-4 Kit which contains Isoniazid, Rifampicin, Ethambutol, and Pyrazinamide is given for 2 months.

This is followed by continuation phase in which AKT-2 Tablet which contains Isoniazid and Rifampicin is given for 4 to 7 months depending the clinical condition of the patient.

Now, since your wife has already completed the initial phase by taking AKT-4 for 2 months, she needs to take AKT-2 for another 4-7 months after consulting her treating doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali

Hello,

The standard treatment of tuberculosis consists of two phases:

2. In the continuation phase AKT-2 (which contains Isoniazid and Rifampicin) is given once daily for 4-7 months depending upon the clinical condition.

Since, your wife seems to have taken AKT-4 for first 2 months, now she needs to take AKT-2 for another 4-7 months after consulting her treating doctor.
