Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Should Hepantivir Be Taken For The Treatment Of Hepatitis B?
Please I just started taking Hepantivir for the treatment of acute hepatitis B. The doctor prescribed that I take one tablet twice daily. However, the drug prescription is 3 tablets together thrice daily. Am quite confused. Please advise me. Thanks
The dose of the mentioned drug is 100 mg daily. But dose adjusted According to kidney function. So kidney function should be checked by urea, creatinine estimation.
It is used only in chronic, acute hepatitis. In a fresh, first attack of acute hepatitis, it is not recommended. So, consult a gastroenterologist for examination before starting the medication.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Parth Goswami
