How Should Z-Pak Dosage Be Distributed Across Days To Treat Sinus Infection?
My daughter's doctor just prescribed a z-pak for her sinus infection. He told her to take it as follows - 500 mg day one then 250 mg for the next 4 days. I read online that for a sinus infection, a patient should take it in 3 days (500 mg per day). What is your opinion?
Hello dear I understand your concern Doctor dosage is specific according to practice. So dosage schedule should be differ. I generally prescribed dose as prescribed by your doctor: 500 mg orally as a single dose on the first day: for immediate action 250 mg orally once a day on days 2 through
Some doctor give 500 mg three times a day: but some time more chance of side effects because of high dose. So do not worry. Doctor has prescribed correct dose and schedule. Hope this may help you
Contact further if follow up needed Best regards Dr. Sagar
