General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Birth control pills are started first time on any day of the periods ( preferably first or second day of bleeding ) and should be continued for 21 days and then stopped for 7 days ( most preparation has the 7 free days in form of inactive tablets so you just need it to take it continually example 21 days of the active tablets and 7 days of inactive tablets ) and then continue taking it daily. so to make it easy for 28 tablets ( 7 are inactive ie do not contain the drug ) start on day 2 of bleeding and take it continuously. After 21 days there is generally breakthrough bleeding. In your case, as you have started it well on time and taken it continuously. .i would suggest to continue it .....

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
