Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I just got out of the hospital, don t have a primary doctor and I have 5 prescriptions for High blood pressure and 4 say take once a day and one twice a day. In the hospital they gave them half in the AM and half PM. I was getting antibiotics in the hospital. CAN I TAKE ALL THE ONES THAT SAY ONCE A DAY AT NIGHT?? I ASKED THE PHARMASIST BUT SHE WAS RELUCTANT TO SAY! ONCE A DAY, CAN IT BE ANY TIME OF THE DAY? 1) amiodipine 2)carvedilol 3)hydrochiothiazide 4)lisinopril and 5)pravastatin (Bedtime). Thanks
I'm surprised your doctor has not prescribed you how to take the blood pressure medications! Ok we will start with (1) Amlodipine once daily at lunch, (2) Carvedilol if is extended release is twice a day, but there is no problem even if you take it once a day, usually in the morning after meals.(3) Hydrochlorothiazide is once daily, at morning at least 30 min before eating. (4) Lisinopril is taken once daily, also you may take it in the morning after eating. (5) Ppravastatin at bedtime.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Suzana Zharri
