How Should Extreme Pain And Redness In The Tragus After Piercing It Be Managed?
I have my tragus piercing 8 days before and now I fell extreme pain in my tragus and feel redness too I am cleaning it with saline water and use only coconut oil ? What should I do to heal it and to get rid of pain ? Can I use polyfax for quick recovery or it will further damage my tragus ?
You seem to have what is called perichondritis which is infection of cartilage of tragus. You can experience extreme pain due to the infection. You need to start antibiotics like ciprofloxacin, 500 mg two times daily for at least 7 to 10 days. Also, add on strong analgesics to alleviate pain. continue to use local emollients what are you using now.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
