How Should Itchy Red Spots At The Bruise Caused From An Injury To The Shin Be Treated?

About 1 yr ago, I hit my shin on the hitch of a truck. It bruised immediately. Once bruising was in the light yellow stage, I got some red spots on the bruise sight that itches. It has been spreading in size eve since and now I have a new spot towards bottom of same leg. Anyone have an answer?
