Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
There are many different statins on the market, how should one be chosen. I was prescribed Crestor but my insurance company doesn t want to pay or it and wants me to do the step method. I have used Lipitor but causes leg pain and I am also concerned about Lipitor and diabetes.
I would like to say that all the statins can cause leg pain so maybe you shouldn't change your therapy because lipitor is a good alternative for treating dislipidemia.
Even if you change your therapy to crestor you still may have leg pain.
Hope it was of help! Dr. Benard
