Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic
I will keep a possibility of recurrent herpes genitalis. The salient features of
genital herpes are recurrent genital sores or fluid filled lesions that quickly rupture to form sores.
The clinical picture is usually clear cut to be missed or confused with something else. I would suggest that you visit a
dermatologist or a sexual health clinic for a confirmatory diagnosis,
counselling and appropriate treatment.
Herpes specially a recently acquired infection can have frequent recurrences. The frequency of recurrences decreases with time.
An episode of herpes is treated with oral antivirals e.g either acyclovir Or valacyclovir Or
famciclovir.
Topically you may use an OTC
topical antibiotic e.g 2% mupirocin, twice daily.
Frequent recurrences (>9 epsiodes) in an year in an individual is an indication for suppressive treatment with once daily valacyclovir for an year.
