How Soon Can One Identify Early Signs Of Pregnancy?
hi, i had unprotected sex with my girl frnd on 26 th and she also took an i-pill after 2 hours. generally her period dates are 27 or 28 with two days variation. now it is 4 days late and she missed her periods. after taking a preg test it was found +ve. so my question is , is this possible to detect a pregnancy after one week or the result is false?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. i [ill is an emergency contraceptive pill that needs to be taken within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse. What your girlfriend has taken within 2 hours is properly done. After taking pills, it protects pregnancy by causing withdrawal bleeding within 3 weeks from the day of taking the pill. Protection of emergency contraceptive pills is around 90% and there are chances of 10% failure. Since her pregnancy test has come positive, it is better to consult Gynecologist for proper evaluation and management. Hope the information provided would be useful. ALl the best.
