Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I’m having a lot of pain in the area of my tailbone. This came up rather suddenly - a week or two ago I noticed it, and it’s now gotten very hard to sit. No fall or any trauma. I can think of nothing I’ve done. Not at all visible from outside. Ideas of what it could be?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Usually, bones doesn't pain like the way you are telling. If you are complaining of pain then it might be either injury, infection or malignancy.
So, we need to evaluate your history with some leading questions like do you have a fever, weight loss or any other symptom which might be suggestive of something for the diagnosis.
If we couldn't get anything then at least we can get x-ray spine to rule out if you have any inflammatory or malignant conditions. If nothing is noted in x-ray also then it could be due to trauma without your notice and it needs only painkillers to solve all your problems. You can take painkillers like paracetamol, tramadol, diclofenac, etcetera.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Archana
