How To Avoid Habit Of Eating Slate Pencil While Suffering From Anemia?
i m eating slate pencel since last 3 year and i am suffering from aneamia now and i have even got dark circles and they are not going even after consuming palak, Beet etc....can u please tell whether the dark circles are increasing due to eating of slate pencil as its effects our blood. Also please tell me if i can use calcium sandos as a suplement to stop eating slate pencil
Slate pencils contains calcium carbonate and it may be harmful when it is taken in excessive amount, then it may cause stone formation in kidneys. The continuous craving for eating inedible substances (like chalk, slate pencils etc) is known as Pica. It is one of the features of Iron deficiency anemia.
Kindly check your hemoglobin status.Based on severity of anemia, oral or injectable iron should be administered.Iron supplementation will reduce pica rather than calcium tablet intake.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
