Hi for over a month now my two kids n myself have been getting what I think mosquito bites all around our body mostly in the leg and ankle area it s starting to get painful and very itchy. My two kids have been experiencing fever like a cold not sure if its related to the bites are they intact mosquitos. How can I stop them from biting
I understand your concern about the situation. Mosquito bites are not only bothersome but also I'd ignored may lead to more adverse effects in form of one disease or another.
Mosquitoes need blood for their diet, and are attracted to warm blooded organisms for the same, to which we belong. So as such if they find us they will bite.
Having said that, there are many methods to prevent mosquito bites. They are mainly of two types.
First using methods which kill Mosquitoes and remove them completely from areas of living. They include fumigation, preventing water stagnation in and around the residential area. These methods require community participation.
The second method, which are applied on household levels, which is more pertinent to your situation. It involves methods which prevent Mosquitoes from biting. These can be a physical barrier like wearing full clothing, putting screens on doors and windows, using mosquito nets. You can also use certain chemicals which when applied onto the skin prevent the Mosquitoes from sitting on the skin and biting. They are temporary and have to be reapplied after a few hours of use. There are many effective natural varieties which do the work and prevent any skin reaction. Mosquito repellent gases are also available along with insect catchers.
So for immediate effect use a repellent chemical. But if it is a long term problem in your area, I believe you should talk to your local authorities to tackle the problem.
I hope that I have answered your query with adequate information. If you have any other questions feel free to follow up and ask them.
Thanks again.
