How To Avoid The Risk Of HIV After Touching The Blood?
hello is there any risk to exposure of HIV or other STD if you touch a gauzes that had blood(amount was about the size of a dime or smaller) on it with no glove....i don t believe the blood came through to both sides of the gauze no cuts or sores on hand...also no blood found on hand
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I have read your description and understand your concern. Touching blood or blood stained material without having cuts or breaks on the skin does not expose you to HIV or other STDs. However, if it is proven that the blood was infected with HIV which you came in contact with, you can take post-exposure prophylaxis. To make sure there is no infection, you can get your blood tested after a month. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
