How To Calculate The Date Of Conceiving?

My wife discovered she was expecting in may, we went to our 8 week visit and the ultrasound showed just a sac, the doctor is the one who calculated the 8 weeks. I have done lots of research and calculations online and discovered it would be 5 1/2 to 7 weeks. Would that ultrasound result be normal for such a time period? Also could you tell me a date that you would calculate based off of her first day of her last cycle? That date was May 3rd, and we had intercourse on the 8th, 12, 18th, and 24th, according to my calculation her most probable days to get pregnant would be from the 13th to the 23rd, which should place us at 5 1/2 or 7 weeks or so, sorry for the long question just looking for some relief until we can go back for another ultrasound. Hi,

First and last 10 days of a cycle are safe periods, and chance of conception is very low. If her cycles are regular, any intercourse happened between may 13th-20th can result in conception. So here it's probably from the act on 18th (although much less likely, can be from 12th also). Ultrasound date is approximate only; there can be 5-7 days variation in first trimester.
