Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had an irregular period (dark red/brown blood) he first week of August, a week before my actual period was due. Then didn t get my period when it was due. Then had another slightly irregular period the week after I was originally supposed to have it. The next month, September, I didn t get a period at all. Took a urine pregnancy test a week after missed period and it said negative. Then took a blood pregnancy test at my doctors office Sept 26, also said negative. Missed a period yet again in October so I had another blood test on October 14 and it said positive. How far along do you think I am?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Gestational age is calculated in weeks from the last menstrual period (LMP). In case you are not sure about it due to irregular periods, it would be better to know the age of gestation by means of ultrasound scan of abdomen and pelvis. Also, it would provide additional information about the growing foetus. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
