Our adopted son has been diagnosed with thalassemia. But we do not know how severe it is(how many genes, it was said by a dr. probably 2 or 3) and he seems to be having a lot of health problems like his immune system is low. Do we need to have the thalassemia checked further?
Definitly. There are 2 konds of thalasemia. Alpha and beta. Both has major amd minor types. Onmajor types we usually have to do serial blood transfusion. Its very important to do a complete workup started from complete blood count.
