HI, A month or so ago, I had a bloodworkup done. The results should that my cholesterol was up alittle, and my thyroid need to checked. My question is how do I know if my bloodsugar was normal. I reveived a report with a lot of terms that only a doctor knows. what should I look for on the report? Heidi
hi, I had gone through your query and understood your concerns.
The blood sugar levels are written as
Before food(Fasting blood sugar/FBS) whose normal range is 4.4 to 6.1 mmol/L (82 to 110 mg/dL) Shortly after a meal (postprandial/ PPBS) the blood glucose level may rise temporarily up to 7.8 mmol/L (140 mg/dL)
you need to check whether blood sugar levels are above these normal values
Hope this guides you. For any other queries you can write to us. we will be happy to help you. Thank you. Dr Phanindra Dulipala Diabetologist.
