How To Choose The Size Of Insulin Syringe?

I received a vial of HCG that says 10000 I.U. / 1 mil. I have insulin syringes that have the lowest number at 10 and the highest at 100. I m supposed to take 500 IU. What number on the syringe do I draw it back to? Everything I read online keeps confusing me even more. I just want to know if I draw it to 10, 20, 30, 40, or 50, etc.

Hi,

Each ml. of insulin syringe contains of 100 IU of insulin, which in your case is equal to 10000 IU of HCG. As you are supposed to take 500 IU of HCG. Therefore 500 IU of HCG will be equal to 5 IU of insulin. Therefore you will have to draw up to mark of 5, You may make it up to the half of 10 mark. Usually there will be 5 short marks below 10 mark, each short mark denoting a representation of 2. Therefore you will have to fill up to exactly between 4 and 6 mark (between 2nd and 3rd short mark above 0 or below 10 big mark).

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
