As you are curious about AIDS or popularly known as HIV infection .
You didn't want a confirmatory test for HIV infection .
Only way is that if someone develop HIV , there develop symptoms :
Approximately 50-705 of infected individuals experience an acute syndrome following primary infection.
The acute syndrome follows infection by 3-6 weeks .
Symptoms are , fever,
pharyngitis , headache /retro-orbital pain ( behind eyes),
lymphadenopathy, letharhy/malaise,arthralgias /myalgias, anorexia /loss of weight , erythematous rashes , mucocutaneous ulceration.
Antibodies begin to appear within 2 weeks of initial infection ( contract with HIV infected patient ).
Chronic cases develop following symptoms :
