Why would a person have symptoms of genital herpes over 31 years ago, and when tested at that time and having cultures done, over and over again coming back negative, and herpes testing done annually and coming out negative, get currently diagnosed with HSV-2 recently?
As per your case history of herpes, my advice is - 1. You can undergo IgG and IgM for HSV blood investigation. 2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on the affected skin. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine for itching and NSAID like ibuprofen for pain.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
