I have a lymph node on my right side of the neck. I taught is was cold sore and i was following with the medication of pain killer and antibiotic for 1 week. Since there was no improvement i was advised for FNAC test. FNAC report says SUGGESTIVE TUBERCULOSIS. Then i was advised to have MONTOX TEST and X-RAY, where both montox and xray reports says its NORMAL. AFB is also negative. Now what should i do? 1. Should i have to start ATT based on the FNAC report ? 2. Is there any other confirmative test method which i have to do? please suggest me
Yes you can get the lymph nod excised completely by a small surgery and send it for culture. Send a small part also for histopathology. Both the reports can very well confirm tuberculosis. You can also send the tissue sample for a newer diagnostic test like GENEXPERT/RIF test
