Hi,

What medications has been prescribed by your doctor is appropriate for abortion to happen. You should get bleeding within 4 hours after intake of pills. Bleeding is often the first sign that the abortion has begun. If the abortion continues, bleeding and cramps become more intense. Bleeding is often heavier than a normal menstruation, and there can be passage of clots. The longer the pregnancy has developed, the heavier the cramps and the bleeding will be. If the abortion is complete, the bleeding and the cramps diminish.

Normally the bleeding will continue lightly for one to three weeks after the abortion. It is therefore essential to confirm that all the products of conception has been expelled completely by undertaking an ultrasound scan.

After all these process, normal menstrual period usually returns after four to six weeks. It is found that about 75 - 85 % successful in inducing abortion in the first trimester by use of pills.

Kindly follow-up with your doctor appropriately as abortion process needs to be done under medical supervision.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
