How To Confirm Pregnancy?

Hi, I have recently started taking birth control again (almost done my second pack). For the past week or so I have been feeling very nauseous and sort of light-headed. I thought I might have had a mild case of food poisoning, but I am now wondering if these symptoms are side effects from Alesse? I had protected sex (using a condom) about a week BEFORE getting back on birth control. Is it possible that I am pregnant?

Hello,

It is always possible to be pregnant, even using birth control correctly. Although it is very unlikely you should do a urine pregnancy test.

But these also can certainly be symptoms of starting birth control pills. Your body usually adjusts after 2-3 packs /months of pills.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Lisa Baker
