Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
how do you diagnose psoriatic arthritis? I ve had pustular psoriasis on soles and palms .for 20 years. All biologics made me react with infections. My right diagram is partially paralyzed, I am told, due to psoriasis. Currently having great success with laser treatments but still have stiffness and pain in my joints
As per your history and symptoms there is possibility of inflammatory arthritis. When such patients come to our hospital I advise them blood test like ANA, RA factor, ACCP, ESR, complete blood count, HLA B27.
Psoriatic arthritis will also need x ray and dexa scan to confirm diagnosis.
Analgesic will reduce pain; you can take them consulting your treating doctor.
You may consult physiotherapist for further guidance. He may start TENS, or ultrasound which is helpful in your case
Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
Wishing you good health.
Take care.
